Our Story

Started by a Roofer, Not a Sales Office

Mark Hensley spent nine years on residential roofing crews around Chattanooga before he started Ironclad in 2014. Those years taught him how roofs actually fail: at the flashing nobody bothered to replace, at the valley cut in a hurry, at the attic that was never vented. They also showed him how often homeowners were sold a roof by someone who had never stood on one.

Ironclad was built to work the other way around. The person who climbs your roof and tells you what it needs owns the company, and the crew that installs it is the same crew every time.

That is still how the company runs. Ironclad is not the biggest roofer in Hamilton County, and it is not trying to be. Two installation crews mean a schedule that stays manageable, an owner who knows every job by address, and a phone answered by Dana instead of a call center.

How We Work

What Happens From the First Call to the Last Nail

  1. Inspection: Mark inspects the roof, the attic, and the gutters, and photographs everything he finds.
  2. Written estimate: you get a line-item estimate that names the shingle, the underlayment, and any decking replacement priced per sheet.
  3. Scheduling: Dana sets the install date and handles HOA approvals or insurance paperwork when the job needs them.
  4. Install day: Luis’s crew protects your landscaping, tears off down to the decking, and installs the new roof, usually in one or two days.
  5. Final walkthrough: a magnet sweep for nails, a cleanup check, and your written warranty in hand.

If the honest answer is a roof repair instead of a roof replacement, that is the answer you get. Not sure which you need yet? Start with a free roof inspection, or see the communities we serve across Hamilton County.
